Data Collection
We collect in-person quantitative and qualitative data to inform analysis and decision-making, spanning from urban areas to remote and conflict zones, accommodating various languages (including indigenous dialects), while adhering to the company's business and ethical guidelines.
Surveys
Surveys are "an essential approach for eliciting otherwise invisible factors such as perceptions, knowledge and beliefs, attitudes, and reasoning. These factors are critical determinants of social, economic, and political outcomes."
Stefanie Stantcheva, Professor of Economics, Harvard University
"How to Run Surveys: A Guide to Creating Your Own Identifying Variation and Revealing the Invisible" (2022)
We open the black box of fieldwork for clients, inviting their involvement and keeping them informed about the challenges encountered in the field and the solutions implemented to address them.
We follow statistical sampling design to minimize non-sampling errors in the face of fieldwork challenges.
Extensive piloting of the survey and logistics is done to fine tune the survey and operational design.
Enumerator training is done to uphold adherence to the fieldwork manual.
We conduct in-person data collection through Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI), preferably using CSPRO, which offers built-in data validation and security features.
Qualitative Data Collection
We do qualitative fieldwork to give voice to stakeholders and listen to their perspectives, focusing on understanding their viewpoints rather than seeking confirmation of our preconceptions.
Qualitative sampling strategies account for theoretical sources of variation in responses.
Systematic data processing methods ensure rigorous analysis of qualitative data.
We run studies with qualitative methods from different disciplines: Anthropology (Ethnography, Interviews, Case Studies, Netnography, Visual Content Analysis, Genealogical Studies). History (Life Stories, Oral Stories, File Review). Sociology (Delphi Method, Focus Groups, Participation Methods, Social Cartography, Community Scored Card). Administration (Mystery Shopper, Eye Tracking).
